When would this team start playing?

We are targeting play in the 2027 Midwest Premier League (MWPL) season, which runs in the Summer, typically from May through August.

What league is this team playing in?

The club we’re building will be playing in the Midwest Premier League, likely in the Gateway South divisions.

What is the Midwest Premier League?

The Midwest Premier League is an American regional soccer league that is run by its member clubs. The goals of the league are to focus on sustainability, promote high-level competition among clubs, encourage participation in regional and national cup competitions, and support all of its member clubs through the sharing of ideas and best practices.

Where does the Midwest Premier League fall in the U.S. Soccer Pyramid?

The MWPL plays in the 4th division of U.S. Soccer.

What other teams/clubs are playing in this division?

Other teams include AFC Columbia (MO), BOHFS St. Louis (MO), Club Atletico Saint Louis (MO), Ehtar Belleville (IL), St. Louis Stars SC (MO), STL Development Academy (MO).

What kind of competitions are you targeting outside of league play?

Our goal is to compete in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup (USOC).

Why the Midwest Premier League?

Less travel means more investment into the club and player development. Due to proximity of the majority of teams in the division, travel to/from these clubs is easy to take in away matches.

Is there Pro/Rel in the Midwest Premier League?

Yes! On October 27, 2023 MWPL announced plans to implement promotion and regulation within the league starting with the Heartland Conference.

MWPL announced a strategic partnership with The League for Clubs (TLFC) on May 19, 2025. The partnership is intended to create a new TLFC Midwest conference that will sit on top of the MWPL to facilitate promotion and relegation between the leagues.

What makes this club different from bigger clubs like STL CITY SC?

As an MWPL club, we, the fans, own the club. Not the league. Not an investor. Our board of directors are passionate, dedicated fans who volunteer their skills and leadership to bring a true community-focused club to the fans. As fan members, you have the opportunity to decide how the club operates.

When you say “fan built”, what does that mean?

We are not owned by investors. We are non-profit. All members of the board are volunteers and fans. All decisions about the club are made by fans and members of the club with full transparency.

How does membership work?

All memberships will include access to our team Discord server, entry to all member events, and a vote on club ballots held at least once per year. Membership must be renewed each year.

How much would it cost to join?

Our aim is inclusivity and affordability; we want everyone to feel welcome and make membership accessible. We will have multiple membership offerings, with memberships as low as $25. Regardless of what type of membership a member purchases, all votes will count equally.
